Rafael Grossman is the Rabbi of the West Side Institutional Synagogue in Manhattan and the Senior Rabbi Emeritus of Baron Hirsch Congregation in Memphis, the largest Orthodox congregation in America.

A past president of the Beth Din of America and the Rabbinical Council of America, he is Chairman of the Rabbinical Council International, Chairman of the Board of the Religious Zionists of America, Chairman of the National Rabbinic Cabinet of Israel Bonds, a member of the Executive Board of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, and a member of the Board of the Development Corporation for Israel.

A recipient of the OU's National Rabbinic Leadership Award, Rabbi Grossman was one of ten rabbis to be honored at the centennial celebration of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.

He holds the degree Doctor of Divinity honoris causa from Yeshiva University in New York City.

Rabbi Grossman is the author of Binah: The Modern Quest for Torah Understanding—a six-book series with Volumes II and III soon to appear—and also writes a column Thinking Aloud that appears in The Jewish Press and on several web sites. He is one of the most widely read Jewish columnists in the country.
